About CPC

We started CPC because every child deserves to be heard, seen, and believed.

Connected Path Clinicians was built on a simple but powerful conviction: that neurodivergent children and young adults thrive when the people caring for them work together — as a team, with the whole child in mind.

Our Founding Story

How CPC Came to Be

Mary Clarke spent years working alongside children and young adults with complex communication needs — and what she saw troubled her.

Children on the autism spectrum who weren’t feeling heard. Families who were advocating fiercely for their kids but hitting walls. Professionals who cared deeply but were working in silos — speech therapists in one room, mental health clinicians in another, occupational therapists somewhere else entirely — each with a piece of the picture, none with the whole.

Time constraints, limited resources, and fragmented systems meant that too many children were being seen through a single, narrow lens. Mary knew there had to be a better way.

She began envisioning a practice built differently — one where related services professionals would collaborate across disciplines, where the child would be treated as a whole person, and where families would finally feel like true partners in their child’s care.

She brought that vision to Adam Cerri, her colleague from their time working together at an alternative school. They had shared classrooms, shared challenges, and a shared belief in what genuine, relationship-centered care could look like. Adam didn’t hesitate. He wanted to be part of building something that could give children and young adults the kind of integrated, affirming support they deserved.

Together, they founded Connected Path Clinicians.

“A practice focused on the whole child and young adult — built from the ground up around the idea that they are best served when the people caring for them are truly working together.”
What We Believe

Our Mission

We collaborate with families to support children and young adults with complex, neurologically-based communication and mental health needs — empowering them to build stronger relationships and live fuller, more connected lives.
Our Values

The principles that ground every clinical decision we make.

Every child is whole.

We see the full person — their strengths, their story, their relationships, and their world — not just the presenting concern.

Neurodiversity is not a deficit.

Different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world are valid. We never ask clients to mask who they are.

Families are partners.

We don’t work around families — we work with them. Parents and caregivers are essential members of every care team.

Collaboration is care.

Siloed care serves systems, not children. We work across disciplines because that’s what whole-child support actually requires.

Safety comes first.

Real growth happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported. Every clinical environment we create is built on that foundation.

The People Behind the Practice

Meet the Founders

CPC was founded by two clinicians who met as colleagues, built a friendship around shared values, and decided together to build the kind of practice they had always believed was possible.

ASDCS · ADHD-CCSP · ADOS-2 Trained
Co-Founder · President & Chief Clinical Officer · Speech-Language Pathology

Mary is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with specialized expertise in autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, trauma, and complex communication needs in neurodivergent children and young adults. She holds the ASDCS (Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist) designation and the ADHD-CCSP credential, and is trained in the ADOS-2 — a gold-standard diagnostic tool for autism evaluation. Mary’s clinical approach is rooted in relationship-centered care and a deep respect for each client’s unique communication style and identity. She doesn’t ask children to conform — she meets them where they are and builds from there. Before founding CPC, Mary worked across clinical and educational settings — including an alternative school where she first collaborated with Adam Cerri and recognized what integrated, multidisciplinary care could look like when clinicians truly worked as a team.

Adam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with deep expertise in trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming mental health care for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. He brings both clinical skill and genuine warmth to every therapeutic relationship — creating environments where clients feel safe to be exactly who they are. Adam’s decision to co-found CPC was grounded in a conviction he and Mary had both carried from their time working together: that children and young adults with complex needs are best served when their mental health and communication goals are treated as one integrated picture, not two separate concerns. At CPC, Adam leads the mental health services practice and plays a central role in the co-treatment model — collaborating directly with Mary to ensure that every shared client receives coordinated, whole-child care.

How We Work

Our Approach

At CPC, collaboration isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation. From the moment a client joins our practice, Mary and Adam work as a coordinated team, sharing observations, aligning goals, and adjusting care plans together in real time.

We partner with speech-language pathologists, educators, behavioral health specialists, occupational therapists, and mental health counselors to ensure that every dimension of a child’s development is considered. And we keep families at the center of it all — because the people who know a child best are the people who love them.

Services are available in-person and via telehealth across Delaware and surrounding states. We accept insurance and private pay, and are committed to making our care as accessible as possible.
